Some forums need a moderator, and some need a 2nd moderator. This should help make it easier on everyone’s moderating job. If accepted, you would be placed as a secondary moderator with another more experienced moderator, while you “learn the ropes”.
What is needed? As forum experience is needed, you should have a minimum of 300 quality posts, ideally 500. A majority of your posts should show a selfless attitude of true helpfulness. Your posts should be accurate of course. An even temper, common sense, and a bit of a “tough skin” are also important. You should (in general) have the time to commit at least 1 hour a day.
You need to be willing to participate in the moderator's (off forum) group to ask questions, offer help and opinions when needed. You should have a strong knowledge in at least one forum category.
If you’re interested, let’s talk further. Email Debs at debs [at] sitesell [dot] com. Let her know which forums you would be comfortable in. Please make that list as long as possible, but you probably wouldn’t be given more than 1 to 3 forums. Also, let Debs know how you appear in the forums. Ex. “Jim from jugglenow.com”. Please include a paragraph or 2 on why you’d like to be a moderator.
You would be given some guidelines, but you would never be alone. We all help each other. Know that if you are not accepted, we will keep everyone’s names for future additions.
If you feel qualified, I hope you consider becoming a moderator, as another way to “pay it forward”!
Thanks! And all the best,
