Just had a great idea .... i wonder if it is allowed ...

Buying traffic on our own adsense sites through adwords ....

If we have certain product or service ... why not advertise on our own sites for cheap advertisement ?

Anyone done this and is it allowed ?

You're allowed to do this, but make sure it doesn't cross the border into something called arbitrage which is frowned on. This involves researching low cost keywords that you buy ads for which target pages on your site which have high paying keyword ads. If I was doing this, I most likely wouldn't have adsense ads on the page, just my own product.
