Sure. I'm happy to help. Sometimes it helps me to think through my own sites (besides wishing they were one).
That is so interesting that the self hypnosis and affirmations search terms bring each other's search results. I would never have known!
And looking at the above numbers, and also the fact that affirmations as a site-concept-keyword has much better menu of the T2 keywords than self hypnosis - I tend to lean towards affirmations.
I would think that this is a good plan. Over time there may come a time when you'd build more and more self hypnosis pages.
For me the unknown factor is this: There is a huge interest out there in affirmations - far greater that in self hypnosis. Would I be able to present affirmations in the form oyf self hypnosis?
Probably. I would think so. Perhaps it would be a way to develop your "voice" in these markets. You've made a realization that I'd not known, so I'm sure that other common ordinary visitors would not have known it either. Teachers and education might be a whole subset, too, in that they try to use uplifting and helpful phrases for their students. (Power of positive thinking? Speaking?)
Your having done this for a living means that you know where people deceive themselves and you can help them to see and conquer errors. You can show them that false affirmations can lead to long term trouble. The same with false negations (I have no idea what to call that other than denigrating one's self, when the fault is not true....). It is the truth that will set you free.
What I am counting on here is that I can make a super presentation of the affirmation topic as a form of self hypnosis, and in this way entice the typical short-affirmation-type-seeking-crowd into basically the same thing BUT BETTER. Better because it will imprint itself better on their conscious and subconscious mind.
This sure might work well, especially if you include recordings or videos. You can describe the success you've seen so that your pages are long enough to be ranked. Adding videos is known to boost time on page stats that may also help improve each page's ranking. It might take a year or two to cover enough to be considered a complete site, but it looks well worth the effort to me.
I really like your ideas and think they could work well. Why do I say this? I've seen a site I really respect and I think you could use a similar structure as Kevin's site as [Domain Private]
has done. Sometimes it helps to have examples.
From a different perspective: I wonder if the term affirmations is the name of a book, movie, or tactic in schools? You may have to differentiate on your site and then you can develop any distinctions for your visitors. I am unfamiliar with self hypnosis and purposeful affirmation, so I'm not sure what else to say.
I hope this is a help. If not, at least you know what not to write.
