Dear Folks;

I have used Shopify in the past and my impression of it has been generally favourable so long as you have the traffic to send to your Shopify store.

But anyone using Shopify will know that they heavily promote their association with Facebook and often use "Become a Facebook Millionaire" as an advertising tagline. The association with Facebook naturally fosters trust because Facebook is surely a respectable partner and would not allow just any supplier to join its ecommerce solutions.

This article from Citron research goes into how recent privacy revelations have forced Facebook to reveal the depth of information it shares with shady Chinese product suppliers who are often partnered with Shopify vendors.

The association with Facebook turns out to be more of a way to ensure Shopify sells more ecommerce storefronts rather than benefit existing Shopify store owners with good suppliers.

Interesting Sunday reading !

Definitely interesting reading, particularly in the light of all the recent privacy breach information regarding Facebook.

Thanks for sharing, Adrian.
