My name is Susan, I'm from Washington state, I love anything involving numbers and I love to write. I believe a website is the perfect way to pull together my seemingly unrelated passions in one place. That's what got me here. My website will be about biblical stewardship and investing, and I have about 8 domain name ideas I need to choose from. (!) I'm having a great time --- I love to learn new things!

I'm still new to SBI, going on about a month now and working on Day 5. I've been working methodically and trying to leave no stone unturned (that's how I roll), and in the process, I've found myself reading the forums almost to death! I have no words of wisdom to share with anyone yet, but have had pieces of a poem rolling around in my head about the SBI forums, so I thought I'd share it, such as it is. Poetry is not my strong suit, mind you, but it's all in good fun anyway. I don't know where else to post this, so I thought I'd introduce myself and do it here. I call it:

Ideas, directions, and words to explore.
Good content? A service? Perhaps an E-store?
You’ve got some ideas, have passion and pride,
Learn tools of the trade in The Action Guide.
With hammer and chisel, with paintbrush or pliers,
Your work is well worth it, just ask SBIers!

You will hit that much-dreaded bump in the road.
Can’t figure it out and you feel like a toad.
Through Brainstorming woes and much consternation,
Go hit the forums for edification!
Remember to follow the rules of the forum:
Complaining, or sharing, but always decorum.

Searching for answers with vigor and vim.
It finally hits you --- you could always ask Jim!
You struggle with words, knowing not what to do.
Is your concept too narrow? Just ask Mary Lou.
A boatload of questions is never a sin,
You’re sure to get guidance from Ken of Admin.
After reading and reading with your bleary eye,
You find the right answer! “Eureka!” you cry.

The rules? Pay it forward to another “young buck”
Who’s feeling discouraged or just out of luck.
Contribute your bit to the wide-varied group.
Suggestions? Advice? Throw it all in the soup!

There’s no stone unturned among SBI sites.
You’ll find competition, and that really bites!
But everyone has their own great perception:
They spin it, they brush it, they make a connection.

Coaching, and hiking, and how to play fiddle,
Speaking in public, or teach how to whittle.
Some sites are focused on keeping you healthy.
Others give great tips on how to be wealthy.
Porcelain dolls, or white-water rafting,
Makeup and haircuts and biking and crafting.
Parties and boating and camping and fashion,
Some SBIers have sports as a passion.
Dog sites and food sites and travel galore,
One thing’s for certain --- there IS room for more!

Now go and do likewise but with your own spin.
Keep at it, keep trying, and someday you’ll win.
When watching to see if success may be nigh,
Hard work will pay off. Just ask SBI!

First and foremost, excellent poem Susan. You definitely have the passion and motivation required to succeed with SBI. Your poem speaks words of wisdom and hope to all who have found SBI and are willing to implement it in their own way. You have helped me see the big picture and I will not stop until I succeed. Thank you for taking the time to inspire those fortunate enough to come across your post! :D

Thanks Paul, Susan, and John! I've thought about posting it elsewhere too, but I don't know where it would be appropriate. Any ideas?

What a great poem!! Thank you for sharing it with all of us. And welcome to the forums from another Washingtonian SBIer (is summer ever going to arrive this year?)

Good luck on your site. Sounds like you are doing it all right, taking your time and working through everything.
