Don't give up.
Yes, this is a frustrating, demanding and difficult business. Everyday it's something new. A new animal to deal with, a difficult customer, DDOS attacks, new software, new ways of doing things, low traffic ... The list goes on and on.
Sometimes you just have to work through it.
Two years ago I was ready to throw in the towel. I was mildly successful, but was frustrated at the pace of growth, the difficulty of the task and the lack of any significant revenue for my considerable efforts. I actually put my site up for sale for a measly $15,000 or something. (See the post here - https://forums.sitesell.com/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=160560&st=0&sk=t&sd=a#911299
). At the time I was averaging about 70,000 page views per month and about $400 in revenue.
A bunch of wonderful SBIers (as you can see in the post) encouraged me to stick with it. After a week of that I relented and pressed on. As Ken said last week I about threw the baby out with the bath water.
Fast Forward 2 years. This month I'm averaging over 10,000 page views per day. (I'm having a little snow storm right now.) My revenue is between $2,000 and $3,000 per month. I have some prospects in the future that might make that jump considerably. I still don't have a product of my own to sell but that's in the works.
Do I still struggle? Sure I do. Every day I find a new challenge, but I just have to work through it.
It's been a tough slog, but with the help and encouragement of some really great SBIers, I think things are looking pretty good.
(Anyone want to buy a a great internet business? Only $250,000. Yes, I would sell it for that today. I can always start over and it would be much easier this time.)
