Aloha from The Big Island of Hawaii. Happy New Year to all!

Brainstorm it

I have a site concept 3 word Keyword Phrase that has Value Demand 200,000 K - Real Supply 8000 K, I question this. I ran the same phrase on Wordtracker and got 210 Searches and I ran it on another keyword site and got 20 demand. I want to make sure that what I am getting on Brainstorm it isn't skewed in some way as the phrase if I use it will be the foundation for everything I do for the next 24 months.

Thank you in advance fir any and all input.

Robert, you just might be interested in creating content about something that everyone else finds difficult. Good for you!

But just to make sure that you aren't wandering into a buzz saw do two things:

  • Do an 'incognito' Google search using Chrome. Are the top 10 spots only huge ecommerce, gov or edu sites? You might want to rethink your focus.
  • Look up your keyword on Google Trends. Set the time frame to be 2004 to present. That will show you any seasonal spikes

Google Trends - Interesting resource!

I checked for a "breakout" topic in my niche, and it had interesting results. Yes, this merits a new topic, I think...

Bob, I don't know if there's very much here on SBI on Google Trends. It's a very understandable, easy to use tool. But if you want to find more in the forums do aGoogle Advanced Search and narrow the search to just the SBI forums (

You may also check out Google Correlate. It finds search patterns which correspond with real-world trends. It allows you to input keywords and find other terms that have the same seasonal search patterns.

Or you can find keywords with trend lines that are offset by a number of weeks or months ("Shift series x months"). Very useful for discovering keywords that are searched for when your major site keywords are in their yearly slump.

In Tips HQ I found these using Find It! (using the dropdown Search option at top of forum pages, choose "Find It!" from the dropdown): ... ntent.html ... ttern.html

Hope these help.

All my best,
