I need to change the email address for our larger site, but cannot find the other password.

When I search

"WHOIS Data Confirmation"

Only Name Park It sites are returned not my older regular sites.

"VERIFICATION REQUIRED" only returned my newest site name (old site cum new Move It site)>

Same for

"Please verify your domain name"

This only returned my newest site name.

I cannot find an email that has the other password for my older sites.

Thank you so much,

Mary, the login is in the post registration e-mail with the subject line
"SBI! MAIL" If you have an older site, it may say one of the following...

"Site Build It! MAIL..."
"SBI! Catchall E-mail is Set Up!"

Each domain will have a unique login for domain management. You may
not have received a verification e-mail yet or may not need verification
at this time, so searching for "domain verification' e-mails won't necessarily
produce any results.

If you can't find it, just contact support and let them know which
domain you need the SBI! MAIL e-mail re-sent for. :-)

Please be sure to use the address on file for your account when making
the request and let support know that it's to confirm your domain contact

All the best,

Thank you so much Cheryl.

I found it in the email listed at WhoIs, an email I'd forgotten that I own! I don't know how that happened. Anyway "SBI! MAIL" worked in that account. I've forwarded the emails to my main account and I've made the change that I needed to make.

Since I did not receive the Verification email for the old site I don't have anything to do. Right?

I did receive the Verification email for the moved site and had clicked through there.

Again, thank you so much.

Mary, if you are not sure the contact is up to date on the old domain, you
should just confirm it in the WHOIS record or domain management area.

Thank you.

A new Verification came in my current email and I've clicked through to responded to it.

Getting this message from today:

This registrar's WHOIS system is currently busy.
Please use the back-arrow key and re-try your search.

I've been trying for a while now to get into this site. Are we crashing the site or am I being blocked?

Hello Larry,

I gave it a check and see the same message. The other day it worked well.

Ok, I am totally confused as well.
I am under the impression SBI'ers should ignore all messages to upgrade their domain name, as SBI does it automatically and anything else is a moneymaking scam.

I vaguely recall seeing an email about my domain in my mailbox and vaguely recall that smug feeling of "not falling for this scam" while deleting it. How do I go about figuring out if this email was indeed from SBI and how are we supposed to distinguish the real thing from the scam??

And how will I know if my domain has been suspended as a result of my not upgrading it if it were indeed the real thing in that email? Will my traffic drop suddenly if my domain no longer exists, or are visitors directed to cached pages?

Thanks for any clarification  !!

I am confused as well. I've read the urgent message a number of times. I can't seem to figure out how to be assured that all is okay with my domain name.

I would like to be assured that all is okay. I don't remember getting an email :?

Just wondering if this could be clarified, as it seems pretty important!

You express my same angst exactly.

It was very hard to gather the courage to click through the link for an NPI domain that I parked last month. I read every other link before I clicked through that link. If I had not already seen this note here in the forum, I would have done as you say and skipped it as a scam.

A week ago I was able to tell because it came within a few minutes of the other two SiteSell emails with a Name Park It domain. It was still hard to have the courage to click because the page had such a different layout from what I had been used to seeing. Even a photo of Ken wouldn't have helped. Anyone can get that. Reading the other emails is probably what convinced me. The note must have been near the top, too, because I frequently do not read the bottom of the ezines that SBI sends because they are so similar each time.

I received a card in the mail last week with a giant "Official Notice" to register my site so it could be listed with Google, Bing, and Yahoo. This made it even scarier. (DomainServices .org)

We're supposed to be able to use the same link as Cheryl posted:

If you do not have privacy enabled, you can check the registration directly at

Just enter your domain name (no "www." at the beginning)

But each time I've checked today it is busy. Maybe early Saturday morning might be better if businesses have had to realize this same 15 day bit. Maybe the non-workday in the USA will have less traffic.

Also, you can check at your own account at SBI (as per Cheryl's note) to see if your info is fine. I'd sure contact Support if I thought that I had missed that email (I went through this with Support in January after the first post here). They'll guide you through the steps.

I am so glad that SBI is being proactive about this for others.

Add me to the confused! :?:?:?

This is what I got in an e-mail some time back from SBI!

Dear SBIer,

ICANN, the organization responsible for the stability of the
Internet, requires that each domain name registrant be
given the opportunity to correct any inaccurate contact
data (WHOIS data) associated with a domain name

Then at the bottom of e-mail:

If all of the information above is accurate, you do not need
to take any action. If any of the information above is
inaccurate, you should correct it. To update your WHOIS
contact information, log into our management interface at:

To Sarit

I checked my address at and got the answer "RESERVED"

I got that message, also.

I have had a domain registered (not SBI!) for over 10 years. Get these messages regularly and have NEVER had to do anything except save the e-mail.

So now because SBI! registered my SBI! site domain, do I suddenly have DO something? (I will now log-in to my SBI Domain management account and check that out.)

Hello all,

I found the same again, so I tried

Poof! I watched the screen refresh from the old email that I'd had last week to the new email. I see that the change was made that I entered just a few days ago. This is a way to see if your info is correct.

I'd read Cheryl's note for more info on whether you need to do anything and then contact Support for details for your situation.

If all info is correct, you do not need to do anything according to the email.

This isn't a Sitesell specific thing. It's new from ICANN for all websites. I also did not need to change anything (wanted to change the email). Once I did change the email I received the email that Cheryl mentions.
