I'm not sure, is this supposed to be directed to everyone? My sites seem to be okay with their domains. Thanks.

Almost certainly there is a scam doing the rounds. It purports to come from Support at Sitesell but does not address me by name. I have had two today (the second rather more threatening than the first) telling me that I must click on a link in order for my newly registered NPI domain to remain active, otherwise it will be suspended in 15 days.

Hi Jill.

No, it's not a scam. You're required to confirm all domain names now.

See DAY 5 of the Action Guide for details. When you registers a new SBI! domain name, you receive the two regular emails, and another advising about the ICANN regulation.

That's the entire point of this forum announcement. If you don't have your email contact info current, then you can't receive the email from Tucows about the domain name, and thus, they shut down your domain name, effectively shutting down your site. It happened to my sister.

OK, Help Elf,I have done it! And the sky didn't fall in!

Had the emails used my name I would have felt less suspicious. Also, I didn't realise that your announcement applied to NPI domains. Do we have to check them all or only if we receive notification? I haven't changed my email address.

Hi Jill,

The mention of NPI! domains was overlooked in my original post. I've
updated it to be more clear that it affects both SBI! and NPI! domains...

You only need to be concerned if you received a verification e-mail
for a domain. Once you have verified a contact, if it is used for other
domains that you own you will likely not receive a verification request
for that e-mail again. OpenSRS/Tucows will note on the domain
registration record that the contact as been previously verified.

Moving forward, you will receive a verification e-mail whenever you
make changes to the contact information.

All the best,
Head of SiteSell Support

Thanks Cheryl. It is possible that I understand now...
How will we know if our sites have been suspended? Do they just vanish?

I'm sorry, I'm confused here...

How do I know if I'm affected?

I often delete those emails from SBI because I know my info is current. But it's sounding now like there's more info in the emails?

Is it possible to resend those emails out? I certainly don't want to lose any websites.

Thank you!!

So I have a parked domain, but I can't seem to find the login info for it. When I tried to use the same login info as the "SBI Mail" for the second name park domain it doesn't work. How can I find the login for that one?

Check the emails you received when the domain was registered. One of those has the special login details for managing your domain. If you don't have the emails, contact Support & ask them to re-send those to you.

It was an awesome help to use this to search for my email:

I have to change emails, and your note made it so that I found my emails easily. I made the changes as directed here:

I've wanted to do this for a year and necessity made me take these last two hours to figure, search and complete the changes. I'm so glad I found what you used to find your email.

As to the Move It question. I am not keeping my old domains so I did not need to find the emails for them. I hope.

Believe me! I printed these emails to put in my Password book. :-)
